about

RALPH STARCK’s self-titled mini-album RALPH STARCK is out now and for sale on iTunes, Spotify, ... featuring remixes by Nils Frahm and Krusseldorf.

Before this mini-album, RALPH STARCK has released 2 singles “You Mirror Me” and “She Might Know” on Domina featuring remixes by internationally acclaimed Max Cooper. The video for “You mirror me” can be seen here.

Taken together, the 13 instrumental electronic tracks form a wordless musical story, enigmatically veiled in pumping, elastic beats with cinematographic overtones. The tracks convey a deep and cryptic aesthetic, mirrored by a black mask and hidden identity. RALPH STARCK feeds on this power of the mystique and draws in the listener with dark, sexy, ever shifting rhythms. The tracks invite multiple layers of interpretation and capture a whole range of emotions embedded in subtle melodic miniatures, dreamy ambiences, direct beats, and up-tempo driving groove-excursions.

RALPH STARCK creates an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colours and moods, exciting our imagination and seducing us into a dark and dirty melancholy.

The sounds produced by RALPH STARCK are meticulously crafted from a vast array of sonic textures, ranging from soft and soothing to rough and piercing. He takes great care in his selection and shaping of sounds and tones, giving rise to an unmistakably unique auditory landscape. He surprises with every new track, revealing a kind of dynamism and expansionist, organic quality that is reminiscent of the likes of Trentemoller, Jon Hopkins and Booka Shade. RALPH STARCK is also known for holding his full identity a secret, never uncovering his mask at live performances or other public manifestations. This air of mystery and unpredictability is further reflected in his choice of remixes, going from electronica sibling Max Cooper to unexpected classical composer Nils Frahm.

Do you dare embark on an exploration of the darkness and enter into the realm of RALPH STARCK? There’s nothing to be afraid of. But whatever you do, don’t gaze directly into his eyes. The mask is for your protection.
